Blog Tour (Review+Giveaway):Caught Up In You by Colee Firman
Welcome to my stop of the Caught up in You Blog Tour hosted by Inkslinger PR
Say a hi to Colee Firman and her book.
Title:Caught up in You
Life has a way of shaping you into what it wants you to be, regardless of how much you fight it.
Brantley Prescott is damaged. Scarred by a past she can’t forget. Hiding secrets she’s terrified to share. Searching for a future she doesn’t believe she’ll ever find.
Myles Franco is alone. Burdened by mistakes he’ll never live down. Fostering a deep resentment for the opposite sex. Unleashing his wrath on any girl who gets too close.
Brantley has worked behind the bar long enough to recognize Myles for what he is—a douchebag player with nothing on his mind but keeping a steady stream of girls flowing through his bed. With his messy dark hair, sapphire blue eyes, rock-solid body, and endless tattoos he’s impossible to ignore. But that’s exactly what she plans on doing.
After just one run-in with Brantley, Myles is even more determined to stick to the rules he lives by. She’s mouthy, blunt, and doesn’t back down—no matter how hard he pushes her. She could turn out be the one temptation that drags him down the path he’s been trying to avoid. He won’t let that happen.
Both are content living behind the solid walls they’ve built around themselves. Neither is prepared for what happens when their lives collide.
In a nutshell, this book is a love story between a girl with physical and mental scars, and a boy with a tortured past. It's the story of their love, emotional healing and trials along the way,and Colee Firman manages to deliver it in a way which is heartbreaking, intriguing, emotionally exhausting and amazing.
Both the lead characters had their respective baggage. And despite the fact that I wanted to smack their hard heads often,I really liked these too. They were both wounded and lonely and it broke my heart to read that two characters who were so young had to deal with such horrible pasts.
Brantley was strong, independent and feisty.I really liked her name, character and determination. She was hardworking, confident and she acted by instinct.
Myles was a typical asshole bad boy hero with a soft center. He was often rude but he was really sweet and caring at the same time.He was also a wounded character and I felt really bad for him.
The romance was hot, blazing and with enough sexual tension to make a girl happy. They had some really steamy moments, and they also had quite sweet ones.I also loved how they constantly fought before getting together.I love it when the couple in my romance bickers all the time, and that's what these two did half of the time.
The romance is filled with drama. There are misunderstandings, the characters' pride and ego didn't let them compromise and their pasts were too scarred for them to have a smooth relationship.Brantley and Myles have quite a rocky journey when it comes to their romance, but in the end, they had their HEA,which made me quite happy as well.
Addition to these two,I also liked the side characters.Baylor Grove was described as a close knitted and friendly town, and I really liked how everyone know each other and looked after their town mates.
I also liked the fact that this is a standalone.I don't have anything against series, but I love myself a good old standalone contemporary romance, and Caught up in You was a fantastic addition to that genre.I'd recommend this to anyone who loves an emotional, heartbreaking and intense romance book with a HEA.
