Top Ten things I like when it comes to romances in books

I guess today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Valentine's special:)

Technically the topic was either things I like or dislike in book romances,but I chose to stick with the likes,because come on,why bring the negative side of romances in valentine's week?

So here are the cliches and concepts I normally love in romances in books.

1.Forbidden love

I mean,come on,who doesn't love the forbidden fruit?:)This concept has been a famous cliche in fiction,especially in paranormal and urban fantasy books.Whether it's a love between a human and a paranormal character,the hunter and the hunted,characters who belong to enemy species,teacher student affairs and even strict taboo like incest,it never ceases to capture romance fans.

Will and Lake from Slammed

Aiden and Alex from Covenant

2.Starcrossed Lovers

A little similar to the concept mentioned above,but not as intense,starcrossed lovers are couples who can't  be together because of society,their backgrounds and situations.Either one character's rich and the other is poor or it's a love between a good girl and bad boy or both of them is in a situation where they should kill each other not love one another.

Echo and Noah from Pushing the Limits

Caymen and Xander from The Distance Between Us

3.Best friends falling in love

This is such a cute and well loved concept!The best thing about falling in love with your best friend is that you don't have to pretend to be someone you are not or try to impress him/her.

Violet and Jay from The Body Finder

4.Fights and Banters

I am not talking about serious fights,rather those witty banters and bickerings between couples that make you go,'aww they're so cute!'.I love those type of romances where the couple fight a lot before they fall in love.

Penryn and Raffe from Angelfall

5.Slow burning romance with  high sexual tension

Some romances are fast.It just takes half of a book for the couple to fall in love.But in some,it takes the two a whole book,or even sometimes three books for them to finally admit their feelings.But until then,they'll have high sexual tension that makes you go

6.Guy or girl waiting for the other to fall in love

There's something so sweet about a guy or a girl-specially a guy-who have professed their feelings to the other,and waits until their love interest returns the feelings.It's so romantic,painful and cute and makes you want to have a guy like that-who'll wait for you no matter what.

7.Intense emotions and feelings

I am a sucker for emotions.I love it when books make me feel a lot of them.

NA is the best genre when it comes to emotions in romance.They just suck you in.

8.Characters helping each other with issues

Characters with baggage and issues is not a rare thing in fiction.And it's so wonderful when the MCs unintentionally help each other with them.

Sky and Holder from Hopeless

Bianca and Wesley from The DUFF

9.A lack of a HEA

I know,I am cruel:)I will be utterly heart broken when something bad happens to the couple,yet I can't help but love those books.

Lochan and Maya from Forbidden

10.Non Canon couples

This is so agonizing for the reader!Those two people who are so good together,but will never have their own love story,because the author is so cruel:(

Shipping non canon couples is hard,you are led on,and will be left to rely on fanfiction.

And even when you know that they won't have their HEA,you can't help but hope
