It's question time! || The Ultimate Book Tag

Truth to be told, I wasn't actually tagged for this by anyone, but I really wanted to do it as I loved the questions, and the lovely Aimee took pity on me and tagged me on twitter:) So there's nothing to stop me from trying my hand at The Ultimate Book Tag!

1.Do you get sick while reading in the car?

I've never experienced motion sickness and it is quite natural for me to read in the car, as I travel a lot, and I am used to reading while travelling, In fact, I love reading while travelling, and I've read a lot during my family's occasional random road trips. Our car backseat is my makeshift bedroom, and I never feel a difference while reading on a trip.

2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?

As I am a huge fan of unique writing styles, I make it a point to read books by authors who are known for their magic of stringing words together beautifully. And one of the writing styles that blew me away was V,E.Schwab's writing in Vicious. I was mesmerized by her style, her structure and how she didn't tell her story in her sequential way. I am dying to read her A Darker Shade of Magic.

3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.

Harry Potter of course. You're asking this question from a huge potterhead.
As for the points.

-I am sure that every single person who did this tag chose Harry Potter over Twilight
- Harry Potter is basically my childhood. It has a huge impact on my and a lot of people's lives.
While Twilight taught us the importance of having a boyfriend.
- I'd probably start writing an essay on this if you let me continue.

4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books)?

I do carry a bag. Wherever I go, I make sure to take along my tablet ( which has all my ebooks), my current read, my phone, my notebook - in case I get any idea - and a black pen. And always something to eat, either a chocolate or some baked good.

Why so many things, you ask? Well, though my bag is always heavy, I like to be prepared for anything.

5. Do you smell your books?

Not exactly. But I do love the smell of old books and papers. They smell divine!

6. Books with or without little illustrations?

I've always loved illustrations in books! As a child, I was fascinated by them, and nowadays, I love the rare instances where I come across a beautifully artistic YA book with wonderful illustrations.

7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?

There are quite a lot of books that will make this list. Twilight, Sweet Evil, Fallen, Hush Hush etc. Most of the YA books I read when I first discovered the genre, were actually pretty immature and crappy, but at that time, they were the best piece of literature I've ever come across. Sometimes, when I look back at my GR shelves and look at the books that I've rated with 5 stars, I can't help but cringe.

8. Do you have any stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!

Though my parents can't understand English themselves, they wanted me to be familiar with the language, so they made sure to buy me a lot of audio books as a child. Most of them were fairytales and moral stories, and apparently I devoured everything with quite a lot of eagerness.
I just wanted to share this because my parents have played a huge part in my passion about books, as they made it a point to let their daughter be educated in a language that they've always struggled with and to this age, has always supported me in my passion and dreams when it comes to books and writing.

9. What is the tiniest book on your shelf?

I don't know whether this will qualify as a book, but probably this sneak peek from the latest release Alive which I got from author Chandler Baker some time back.

10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?

My battered old dictionary. My most prized possession. I got it from an elderly woman who lived next to our house. She was an English teacher, who was amused by the 5 year old kid who was so interested in reading English books and gifted me her dictionary so that I may use to learn difficult words. I've treasured it all this time, and I'll be always grateful to this book and the lovely lady who gave it to me.

11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?

Of course! It's my dream one day to be an author! And to tell the truth, I've even started roughly drafting my first book!
I'll probably start gushing if I continue this answer, so let's move on to the next question:)

12. When did you get into reading?

Ever since I can remember, I've been reading. My tastes have changed but my passion has not.

13. What is your favourite classic book?

Pride and PrejudiceTruth to be told, I am not actually a huge fan of classics, and I've never liked the ones I read for school, but somehow I ended up loving Pride and Prejudice when I read it. I adored the characters, especially Darcy and the quirky and wonderful conversations between different characters.

14. In school what was your best subject?

Even though I have a passion for Literature, and am currently majoring in it, I think my best subject was History. I had a weird obsession and curiosity for world history, especially wars. Let's just say that I was the main source of information to my friends when it comes to History when we studied for our O/Levels last year:)

15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated, what would you do?

Trade it or give it away. I already have a serious lack of shelf space;)

16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?

There is this children's book series that is somewhat similar to HP that I used to love as a kid. It's called Charlie Bone, and it's about a group of kids who have special powers and goes to this special school.

It's not as amazing as HP, but the books are really wonderful in their own way.

17. What is a bad habit you always do while blogging?

I post by instinct. And I don't schedule or type up drafts for future use, but just write posts and publish them immediately, when I suddenly get hit with an idea. I knew I should change this habit soon, as it'll be tough to maintain a schedule this way, but I am struggling to change my current ways.

18. What is your favorite word?

They often change, but here's my current favourite

19. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?

I never knew until now that they all have different meanings:)
It took me some time to think about this.

 20. Vampires or Fairies? Why?

A mixture of both! Faeries!
Because they have the goodness of fairies but still are edgier and cooler.

21. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?

Fallen Angels! ( And you get virtual cookies if you find out where this excerpt is from:))

22. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?

Werewolves. They are hot. Enough said:)

23. Zombies or Vampires? Why?

Neither. Both are sick and creepy.

24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?

Forbidden love all the way! The sexual tension and the intense feels existing in this trope are the best!

25. And finally: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?

The latter. I love both action and romance, so I want both of them equally in my books.
Like 50% action and 50% romance.
