Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey—close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He’s the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. She’s artsy, cute, and not in his league, though fully aware of Summerland’s "I Dream of Dating Grayson Ford" support group.

I can’t say no. The girl’s had my heart since before I knew it went missing.

He hides a life of hell. His father hates him, his mother’s gone. Emma is his only savior, yet she doesn’t know her power over him. She’s the only girl he wants, the only one he could ever tell—though he won’t.

I’m stronger, bigger, more of a man than he’ll ever be, but because I ruined his life, I’ve taken his crap, his attacks, the vulgar nature of his existence.

Until she discovers Gray’s embarrassment, his humiliation. Emma fights for him, for a chance. Theirs is a Cinderella story that she believes impossible. But as the layers peel back, it’s just a guy who needs a girl in order to keep breathing.

My mind is already doodling Mrs. Grayson Ford in imaginary notebooks. He has no clue where my head is at… But, given that I didn’t see what just happened coming, maybe I have no clue where his head is at either.

I really wanted to like Only For Him.The cover was quite romantic, the synopsis sounded great and I went into this book expecting a heartbreaking, cute and beautiful love story which will touch my heart. But I was terribly disappointed when I ended up with a book which only managed to anger me a lot.

I had a lot of problems with Only For Him.First of all, this book was short.Too short. And a lot of things were happening in this book,so everything felt rushed.Too much drama was stuffed into this small 70 page novella, and it was a bit overwhelming to say the truth.

And don't let me start about the characters.Emma was called innocent, fresh and different all the time.Though she was our heroine, her character was flat and underdeveloped, unless you count the hundred times Grayson was calling her innocent.I get it dude, you don't have to tell me that every single time.

And I personally think this girl is stupid.I mean, you shouldn't be that eager to sleep with a guy just after your first date. And it doesn't matter that you've loved him all your life. And to top it off,you don't sleep with him without any thought of protection when you perfectly know that he has already done that numerous times with other girls.

And it annoyed me even more that everyone else she knew was a slut for her.All that slut shaming irritated me quite a lot.

There wasn't any development in the romance, just like there wasn't any in the characters.Calling these two childhood best friends was a joke and an insult to that term,as I couldn't find anything between them that can be defined as friendship.
And the romance was another case.I personally think the synopsis sound more romantic than the whole book. The relationship between them was purely physical, and the romance was pretty flat.

Furthermore, there were huge time lapses in the book that was quite confusing. Those lapses created quite a lot of loopholes in the story. It felt like I am watching an episode of a TV series after missing some in between. And to top it off, there was even a cliffhanger!
I pretty much had an expression like this when I was reading the ending.

But what makes me so sad,is that the book had a lot of potential. If Only For Him was longer and the characters had more depth and development, this book would have a great read.Which unfortunately didn't happen.
